Bangladesh e-Passport Application: Online Enrollment and Verification Checklist

Bangladesh e-passport applications are made on epassport.gov.bd and completed in person for biometrics and photo. The portal controls fee, delivery speed (regular vs express), page count and required documents — the live site, not a Facebook list, is authoritative.

Preparing identity data

Keep NID (and where applicable birth-registration) data consistent with the form: name spelling, parents' names, birth registration number, present and permanent address. Have a reachable mobile number and email for OTP and status updates, decide on page count and delivery speed based on your travel timeline, and know whether an earlier MRP/e-passport, reissue or correction case applies.

Online form and payment

Create or sign in to an account on epassport.gov.bd, fill the form carefully — a single letter error in name or a wrong birthdate creates a difficult correction after biometrics — choose regular or express and page count, then complete payment via the channel the portal shows and save the application summary and receipt with the application ID. Review every field on the summary before locking it.

Enrollment, biometrics and police verification

Attend biometric enrollment at the selected Regional Passport Office with originals and photocopies as the current instruction lists (NID, birth certificate where relevant, previous passport, marriage certificate or affidavit where a name correction applies). Provide fingerprints and photo, and keep the delivery slip. If police verification is required, respond to the contacting officer's request at the address on record and provide documents directly — do not pay an unofficial intermediary who promises "faster" verification.

If status stalls

Track status on the portal with the application ID. For name, age or address mismatches, follow the Department of Immigration & Passports correction procedure published for e-passport — that route, not an agent's shortcut, is the correct remedy. Keep delivery slip and payment receipt until collection.
