The 2024 change: Fewer passages (6β†’4-5), same 40 questions/35 minutes. This means more questions per passage β€” deeper extraction required per passage.

Total: 4-5 passages, 40 questions, 35 minutes = 7-8 min/passage average


Most students read the passage text first. Wrong. The text describes the visuals. Go straight to the visuals.

The 15-Second Graph Scan Protocol:

  1. Title & Axis Labels (3 sec): What are the variables? Units? Independent (x) vs Dependent (y)?Scale & Trend (5 sec): Linear? Exponential? Plateau? Inverse? Key inflection points?Legend/Key (3 sec): Multiple series? Conditions? Treatments?Notable Values (4 sec): Max/min, intercepts, intersections, anomalies
